RENTEN is a dream of strengthening the neighbourhood community around Rentemestervej and creating a lively, healthy and green neighbourhood for all. Through shared practical activities, neighbours and local actors can help each other to both reduce the pressure on our planet and increase our well-being.
RENTEN, named after Rentemestervej, is indspired by the Transition-movement from the UK, that is based on the vision that local communities can work together for a more socially just future with lower carbon emissions, resilient communities, more active citizen engagement and a caring culture with a focus on supporting one another. Grounded in Demokrati Garage, the purpose with RENTEN is to create and strengthen a neighbourhood community where local actors and neighbours take ownership of and act for a better neighbourhood. The ambition is to work for a transformation of the neighbourhood we reside, work and live in, in ways that fulfil collective needs while simultaneously staying within the planetary limits. Because by taking ownership over and transforming our neighbourhood, we are capable of changing our world.
